Visit to Ashwood Nurseries, Wolverhampton and Dobbies, Shrewsbury

This is a day trip to Ashwood Nurseries, near Wolverhampton, calling at Dobbies, Shrewsbury, on the return journey.

We plan to leave Frodsham Community Centre at 9am and travel by Selwyn’s coach to Ashwood Nurseries, hoping to arrive at 11am.

On arrival at Ashwood, we will be given an escorted tour of the 3-acre private garden of the owner, John Massey. The garden includes informal borders, island beds and woodland dells. It is planted with an abundance of rare plants, as well as many familiar favourites. We will have a packed-lunch either at Ashwood or on the coach.

After the garden tour, we can browse the beautiful plant sales areas and greenhouses, as well as the garden shop and high quality gift shop, or wander through the stunning nursery gardens.There is also a lovely tea-room, serving snacks and home-made cakes. We will leave Ashwood Nurseries at about 2pm for the one hour journey to Dobbies. When we arrive we will enjoy refreshments, then look round the garden centre and retail outlets. We will leave Dobbies at 4:15pm planning to arrive back in Frodsham at about 6pm.

The cost of the trip is £25 for members and £27 for visitors. This covers travel, the tour of John’s Private Garden and refreshments at Dobbies. Please bring sandwiches and a drink for lunch.
