Annual Outing to the Dorothy Clive Garden and Bridgemere

Monday, May 20, 2024
09:30am - 04:30pm

VISIT TO THE DOROTHY CLIVE GARDEN and BRIDGEMERE on Monday, 20th May 2024 from 9:30am to 4:30pm

We plan to leave Frodsham Community Centre at 9.30am and travel by Anthony’s coach to The Dorothy Clive Garden at Market Drayton, aiming to arrive at about 10:30am, depending on the traffic.

The Dorothy Clive Garden is a 12-acre hillside garden. It is described on Tripadvisor as a very beautiful Plantsman’s Paradise with a laburnum tunnel, a large Mediterranean glasshouse and a rhododendron-filled woodland with waterfall. There is also a tea room with adjoining terrace lawn that affords some wonderful views.

We will leave The Dorothy Clive Garden at 12:45pm and travel the short distance to Bridgemere, arriving at about 1:00pm. Bridgemere is one of Britain’s largest garden centres and has recently been refurbished. It has a large plant sales area and a shopping village where you can buy everything you need for home and garden. Bridgemere is also home to 15 stunning individual show gardens from all over the country. If you would like to visit the show gardens the entrance is free for RHS members and £6 each for non-members.

It is advisable to bring your own lunch and drinks, as there tends to be long queues for refreshments.

The cost per person for the trip (both members and visitors) is £26. This covers travel costs and entry to The Dorothy Clive garden but not the entrance fee to the show gardens at Bridgemere, which is payable on the day.

We will leave Bridgemere at 3:30pm arriving back at Frodsham Community Centre at 4:30pm, traffic permitting.
