Good Evening and welcome to our meeting.  Tonight Margaret & Geoff Fletcher have come all the way from Southport to talk to us about the National Garden Scheme in Lancashire. There are stunning gardens in every county of this great country so it’s good to see inside another county without actually travelling there.  Is Lancashire better than Cheshire?

Are you looking forward to our visit to Sandymere on Tuesday the 24th April at 1pm? We so enjoyed our visit last year. Unfortunately Rachel the head gardener has been in touch to say the tulips have got ‘Tulip Fire’ and those affected are to be removed, it’s such a shame we won’t be seeing them this year but there is no denying the rest of the garden should not to be missed. Remember this stunning site last year?

We are very sad to announce the death of one of our longstanding members.  Audrey Watson sadly passed away last week, so we would like to donate this week’s subscriptions to The Hospice of the Good Shepherd in memory of Audrey.

Plans for our annual trip out on Monday 21st May to Gresgarth Gardens are nearly complete.

We leave the Community Centre at 9.30am then we will travel to Dale House, Preston arriving about 10.20am for tea, coffee and cakes, and maybe a plant or two?, then leaving for Gresgarth Hall Gardens about 12ish arriving about 1pm. We will have a picnic lunch, so don’t forget your sandwiches, tea or coffee and perhaps a little sitter in case there are no seats. When we leave about 3.30pm we will go to the Holiday Inn at Lancaster first for the very important toilet stop. Whilst there you can have tea and biscuits for a charge of £2.50 or if you prefer, take a short wander by the river before boarding the coach home to Frodsham, arriving roughly about 6pm.

It is really hard to believe that our next meeting is our AGM, Already, Of course at the AGM we have to do the business part but once the important bit is over then we will have the fun time. We love our workshops don’t we, for this one you will need to bring a paperback book, yes you heard right, a paperback book of 180 pages minimum, What are we going to make? Well a Hedgehog of course. We also normally have a competition for our AGM but this year we have a very simple one for you. We want you to bring along a little vase of flowers from the garden. That’s it.

A little vase of flowers and a hedgehog, what more could you ask for in your AGM

Just one more thing, we are always looking for new Committee members, we need fresh minds, new

ideas, please help us keep this great club exciting and enticing, no work involved, just your mind with super ideas. Can you help us? Please.                                                                       Have a great night.
